Edmond N.
Beard, which is used as the title name of the Website, is the pen name of Naoto
Murai, who was born
at Maizuru City in Kyoto Prefecture on
August 13, 1946. He graduated from
Higashi-Maizuru Prefectural Senior
High School. After graduation from
Kita-Kyushu University
(the
present Kita-Kyushu Civic University) in 1969, in which he majored in
American-British
English in the faculty of foreign languages, he went on to Nihon Lutheran Theological College
(the present Ruteru Gakuin College). After having studied there for three years, he entered
Lutheran Seminary from which he graduated in 1974. He has also got a master's degree
in systematic theology fromTokyo Theological College in 1976. He has been working for Meisei
High School in Tokyo since 1977. His works are as follows:
